Leaton is documented by the British Railway community wiki as a major through and terminus station served by several Regional and Intercity patterns. That makes it a useful network anchor for Drivers, Guards, and Passengers. The exact platforms, calls, station layout, and current service coverage must be confirmed in the live game.
Understand Leaton’s hub role
Community documentation connects Leaton with Victoria Coast, Norrington, and Mill Bridge service patterns. It also describes trains terminating, passing through, or turning around there. Use those facts as orientation, then read the generated timetable: your train’s calls and direction determine what Leaton means for this trip.
A hub creates choices. Two trains can arrive close together but serve different branches or stopping patterns. A passenger should read the destination, while a Driver should identify whether the route continues, terminates, or reverses.
Approach as a Driver
Begin braking from the current stop distance and speed, not from an old platform diagram. Identify the platform side and stop marker. Long formations may require a different cab position from a short regional unit. Watch the signal sequence into the station and be ready for a restrictive aspect around busy tracks.
After stopping, follow the current door procedure. If the service terminates or turns around, wait for the route completion or new-direction state before setting up the next movement. Community material describes mid-route turnaround behavior at Leaton in an older version, but verify when and how the current game offers it.
Before departure, confirm the next call and starting signal. A familiar station does not mean the route ahead is the same as the previous service.
Dispatch as a Guard
Locate the usable local door before arrival. Leaton is described as having long-platform signal aids in community material, which can help with the starting signal. Use the current physical signal, banner repeater, or OFF indication available at the platform.
Complete loading, train-specific doors, local-door closure, interlock, signal check, and Driver communication in order. Do not hurry because a hub timetable is busy. A red starting signal or incomplete door state requires the train to remain held.
Change trains as a Passenger
Read the destination and calling pattern before boarding. If changing at Leaton, identify the next service first and then find its current platform. Do not assume line names or platform numbers remain fixed across updates.
If the Passenger spawn system requires discovery, travel to Leaton normally and inspect the menu afterward. Use Passenger Guide for the full journey workflow and Map for line orientation.

Common mistakes
Do not board by platform alone. Do not stop based on the station building instead of the marker. Do not assume every Regional or Intercity service calls at the same neighboring stations. Do not dispatch from a long platform without checking the starting signal.
If the generated route differs from a community station table, follow the current timetable and signals. Record the train, service, direction, and version so the difference can be understood.
Practice one repeatable visit
For a first study run, arrive as a Passenger and note the destination boards, through tracks, terminating movements, and visible starting signals. Return as a Driver on a service that calls at Leaton, then compare the routed platform with the Passenger observation. On a later session, Guard the same direction and locate the local-door position before the train stops. This three-role comparison shows which parts belong to the station and which depend on the selected train or service.
Keep the record narrow: current date, direction, train, platform, previous call, next call, and whether the service terminates. Repeat it after a major update before treating the result as a permanent station rule.
Evidence note
Leaton’s hub role and documented service relationships are Community reported. Current platforms, entrances, transfer paths, stop patterns, station code, accessibility, spawn behavior, and turnaround rules need in-game verification.
