The official British Railway description confirms that Guards can check tickets. A correct decision requires reading the current ticket fields and passenger evidence, not accepting or rejecting from appearance alone. Community documentation includes detailed version 1.4.1 examples for dates and Fourthcards, but the current interface and rules must be verified before treating those examples as permanent.
Check only when station work allows
Begin a ticket check between stops when enough time remains to return to the Guard position. The next station’s platform, doors, starting signal, and Driver communication take priority. Cancel or pause a check if the train is approaching and the current game permits it.
Choose one passenger and let the interface fully load. Rapidly switching targets can make it unclear which ticket and card belong together. Keep the How to Guard guide station cycle in mind.
Read the ticket in a fixed order
Use a consistent sequence:
- Identify the ticket type shown by the current UI.
- Read the travel date and any separate validity or expiry date.
- Read origin, destination, route, or service restrictions if displayed.
- Check class or passenger conditions if the game uses them.
- Read any Fourthcard or discount name printed on the ticket.
- Compare the passenger’s current supporting card and its validity.
- Decide only after every required field has been compared.
If the current ticket has a field not described in an older guide, do not ignore it. Read the in-game help or test with a clearly explained example before making a confident rule.
Handle dates carefully
Community version 1.4.1 documentation describes checking the date of travel and, in some cases, a separate “valid until” date. It includes specific date-window examples. Those rules are Community reported and may have changed. Use the current date shown by the game and the current interface guidance.
Do not compare only the day number. Month and year matter. Do not assume a second date is the travel date when it is labeled as expiry. If the format is ambiguous, inspect several current tickets before turning one interpretation into a standard.
Handle Fourthcards and discounts
Community documentation names several Fourthcard types and says the ticket’s card condition should match the passenger’s card, with the card itself valid. The current game may rename, add, remove, or alter those products.
Compare the exact names shown. A blank card field should not automatically be read as a card requirement, and a visually similar name is not necessarily a match. Check the current expiry display when present. Never import real UK railcard rules into British Railway unless the game explicitly implements them.
Decide valid or invalid
Community references describe a “kick passenger” option when no ticket exists. Confirm the current wording and effect; do not assume the same response applies to every invalid field.
Learn without chasing reward numbers
The community Coins page reports small rewards for correct ticket decisions and no reward for some incorrect decisions in its documented version. Exact values and penalties can change. Focus on correctness and station readiness rather than rapidly checking passengers for an old payout.
After a decision, observe the feedback. Record the ticket fields, passenger evidence, result, reward if shown, version, and date. Do not collect private account information or shame a player for a game-generated ticket.
Fix common mistakes
Do not accept because the color looks right. Do not reject because a passenger has a discount you have not learned. Do not compare only one of two dates. Do not assume real-world ticket law controls the Roblox minigame. Do not remain in a ticket interface while the train reaches the next station.
If the interface disappears, return to Guard duties and try again between later stops. If a decision seems wrong, record the feedback and compare it with the current in-game help before repeating it.
Evidence note
Guard ticket checking is Official. Detailed date rules, Fourthcard types, no-ticket response, rewards, limits, and feedback are Community reported, mainly from version 1.4.1 documentation, and require current in-game verification.
